Westmorland has 3rd party accreditations, meaning we comply to all the government, industry and quality accreditations that you would expect from a provider of security and fire safety systems. Improvements to legislation and tighter standards in the industry mean not only do we provide a better service to our customers, we also give them peace of mind their systems will work when needed. Our teams are proud to work to the highest standards possible. Westmorland was initially accredited in the 1980s NSCIA (who later became NACOSS) Now kn0wn as NSI they are the dominant industry regulator, we hold the Gold standard with them for intruder alarms, access control and CCTV systems. Our accreditation also give us ISO 9000 2001, we were one of the first in the industry to meet the standard.
Keyways is a member of the National Association of Security Installation Companies (NASIC).

The Early Years of Westmorland
Westmorland Fire and Security has been established since 1976 and prides itself on its commitment to customer service and high quality workmanship. As a Solution based company we look after the fire and security needs of clients ranging from domestic, commercial and industrial sites including Ministry of Defence, and Government contracts
The company continues to grow and be successful and is now part of the Walker Fire group of companies. This means the same high quality services and systems but with coverage across the UK and Ireland.
The other important aspect of this business is that the people who work here are experts in our industry. Like our customers, many have been with the business for decades, often straight from school. All our technical managers and supervisors have been trained in house, with knowledge passed from generation to generation, something that can’t be trained but only learnt with years of experience. As a Company, we keep our staff informed of any feedback from our customers, this means we continually strive for better standards and reward work well done. Our staff have regular appraisals and the feedback and appraisals help us make decisions together about the business. “Committed to your Security” is not only a statement about how we operate as a whole, it offers security to our customers and team alike. Our team are continually training and learning new skills to improve the offering to our customer base, and also ensuring we stay up to date with all the latest industry standards and innovations. We continue to recruit top quality members of the team, stringently checking their knowledge and skills fits with our high expectations of service standards. With apprentices learning from the wealth of knowledge held by our team, we are now training the next generation of fire and security engineers.
Westmorland Fire and Security joined the Keyways group in November 2001. Very much like Keyways in Manchester, it has a stable trading history, formerly also owned by Michael Greaves, it also has joined the group of companies under the Walker Fire umbrella. Westmorland Fire and Security specialises and prides itself on having a wealth of fire detection and suppression expertise, that compliment the skills and knowledge of Keyways and the wider group, this has helped the Company provide a better service to our clients across the Northwest.

We never sell to our customers for the sake of selling, this means our customers are offered a solution that fits them and is not driven by targets and false sales pretense. Many of our customers have been with us since our inception for this reason.
